Implementation of practical strategies to ensure spiritual healthy churches. |
|
Prevention itself means to stop or cancel something whilst it's going on before it has a chance to go any further. Primary prevention avoids the development of a disease. Secondary prevention activities are aimed at early disease detection, thereby increasing opportunities for interventions to prevent progression of the disease and emergence of symptoms. Tertiary prevention reduces the negative impact of an already established disease by restoring function and reducing disease-related complications. Selective prevention focuses on groups or individuals whose risk of developing problems in the church context is above average. These subgroups may be distinguished by characteristics such as dysfunctional personalities, pathological antagonists, prejudiced, divisive, etc. Indicated prevention involves a screening process in leadership roles that aims to identify individuals who exhibit early signs of the above mentioned characteristics.
